Monologue Excerpts

Darks with Lights

Comical. Any gender/race.

You take risks. You tread were others fear to go. That’s why I do it. I want to know. I want to know for myself, what it’s like to take a chance, any  chance. To lay it all on the line and let the world percolate. People talk. I don’t listen. I do what I want. I wash darks with lights.

Sex Education

Comical or dramatic - depends on actors’ approach. Female. Any race

When a boy says, he wants to make love to you, or whatever vernacular he may use, what he is saying is, and you have to think about this. What he’s saying is, “I want to be inside of you.” And when a person makes a request like that, you better give it some thought.

Love and Abandonment

Originally written for sis gender male about sis gender female. Any race. Poetic license can be taken.

She looked me as though I was ripping her heart out, her hand gripping my white-collared shirt, holding my face to hers, telling me, don’t do this, don’t you do this, don’t you make them other men about something, they mean nothing. They are toys I played with, distractions I couldn’t avoid at the time, but they are nothing. You are my one and only. You are the muscle of my life. You cannot punish me with abandonment because I traveled to places that I could not help but go.

Kendal

Originally written for sis gender male.

A dark-haired, brown-eyed beauty, 5’3 and so sultry in her movement she looked 6 feet tall.  She was exquisite, imposing, breath-taking and this was even more so because this is not how life is supposed to be. A person, born with male genitalia should not look like Kendal. It is incongruous with the natural order of things. No one would ever know, there would be only one way to find out and by the time one finds themselves deep in the bounty of discovery there is no turning back.

Disappointment

Originally written for sis gender female to sis gender male. Any race. Poetic license can be taken.

Can you even imagine the size of the whole in my heart? Do you think I like it? Is that what you think? You think I like you inside me? You think I like anyone like you inside me? Yeah, I like it. For the fleeting moment, I make believe that you are here because you think I’m something.

The Heavyweight

It’s about a junkie. Any gender. Any race.

No, it actually makes my stomach, ache. I don’t know about you but that’s where I feel all my emotional agony and all my fear. It lays right there, hidden in a corner like the last of dying species knowing it’s alone and its time has come, and at the end, life has always been too short.

An Accident

Originally written for sis gender female to sis gender male. Any race. Poetic license can be taken.

Oh my, your mouth is wired shut?  I’m sorry, so sorry I didn’t mean to laugh. That is terrible. How are you going to lie to me if you can’t speak? How about a lie or two via text? Easy, your over-gesticulating. Nope, nothing to write on. I cleaned out your desk for you. But I was so looking forward to hearing tell me the story about the woman in the car with you when you had the accident. Oh, I’m just packing the last of your things for you...
